About Richmond, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The City of Richmond lies at the heart of Madison County. It is a city steeped in history, but one that certainly has a vibrant future, as well. Home to the county seat, Richmond definitely stays active in local government affairs. Considered to be the center for work and shopping in south-central Kentucky, there is always something going on in Richmond. The picturesque storefronts that line downtown invite visitors to stop in and stay a while. Warm summer nights can be spent on nearby waterfronts, while the historic Bennett House Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to cozy up to a loved one on a frosty winter evening.
Founded in 1798 by Colonel John Miller and affectionately named for his birthplace of Richmond, Virginia, the town takes pride in its historical roots. The town’s visitor’s center is also its only museum. The Historic Irvinton House Museum is home to one of the last 7 remaining Revolutionary War uniforms in the U.S. It’s not the only area attraction for history buffs. Whether it’s the Battle of Richmond self-guided driving tour or a trip to Fort Boonesborough State Park there is plenty to do and see to keep the past alive and well in Richmond. There’s even a Battlefield Golf Course and Country Club for those who’d like to get in a few rounds on those beautiful, crisp spring mornings.
Speaking of golf, Richmond is also home to the Gibson Bay Municipal Golf Course, which was designed by the internationally renowned Michael Hurzden. The course is part of the Lake Reba Recreational Complex that is home to a variety of fun activities. From batting cages, to boating trips, there’s something for every member of the family to enjoy any time of year. If all that isn’t enough to keep visitors busy, there’s always good music close by! Richmond is the third largest city in the Bluegrass Region. Things are bound to heat up on those steamy summer nights as you stomp and clap along to your favorite local band.
